Hello all. I am Jacqui and I am mum to Tom and Joe. I am writing this weblog as an aid to other parents who may have children either wanting to use an insulin pump or about to use one. I am setting out our experiences of a pump start for two children in the UK at the same time. I had to fight hard to get my children, who have had Insulin Dependent Diabetes Melitus for Tom since he was 18 months old, and for Joe since he was 8, access to insulin pumps. The Uk is behind most other developed countries in the use of these amazing devices - money as usual!

 Of course, all sorts of issues will be raised in the change over to this new type of care regime. The boys are most excited about not having 4-6 injections a day and being able to eat whenever they want. I am excited about getting them better long term blood sugar control and giving them a longer, healthier life.
